She is board certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology.

Shobha R.Chitneni, MD, co-founded Hematology-Oncology Associates of the Quad Cities in 1994 to meet the needs of cancer patients throughout the Quad Cities and local communities. She is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, Iowa Medical Society, and the Scott County Medical Society.

Richard L. Deming, MD is Medical Director of MercyOne Cancer Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He received a bachelor’s degree from South Dakota State University, his medical degree from Creighton University, and he completed his radiation oncology residency training at the University of California San Francisco. He also served in the US Navy as an undersea medical officer.

Dr. Deming has been at MercyOne Cancer Center since 1989. During the first 33 years at MercyOne he practiced radiation oncology. In 2022 he created the Integrative Oncology Program and Patient Support Services Center within the MercyOne Cancer Center. In addition to being the medical director, he practices Integrative Oncology and has a busy Survivorship practice.

Dr. Deming is known in the community for the compassionate care he provides cancer patients and their families. He is involved in many national, state, and community organizations and is the recipient of numerous awards including the Lane Adams Award by the American Cancer Society for excellence and compassion in patient care.

Dr. Deming is also the founder of Above and Beyond Cancer, a nonprofit organization dedicated to elevating the lives of those touched by cancer. Dr. Deming has led cancer survivors on medical missions and inspirational mind-body-spirit pilgrimages on nearly every continent.

Sakeer Hussain, MD, is dedicated to providing the highest level of care for patients in Southwest Iowa. He obtained a medical degree from Aligarh Muslim University in 1995 and postgraduate training in Medicine in 1998. He completed his fellowship in hematology and oncology at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center, Louisiana University Health Sciences Center, Shreveport, Louisiana, in 2007.

Dr. Hussain is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He is an active member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association of Physicians of India, and the American College of Physicians. His research work has been presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium and American Federation for Medical Research.

Dr. Hussain’s overall goal is to achieve a positive effect on the patient’s quality of life and long-term survival. He works with physicians to provide accurate, quick diagnoses, and leading-edge solutions for treatment of cancer and blood diseases.
